Today I colored the Pansy Petals Embossing Folder from the SSS Beautiful Moments release. I was really looking forward to coloring this one but I don’t think I did it justice. Pansies are hard to color! Here is an image of it:

Here is my card:

I embossed the Pansy Petals EF using white cardstock. I then colored it with Copic Markers. I used several different pansy types I found online and tried to make them look realistic. I wasn’t happy with them so next I tried outlining them with a black fine tip marker and they looked much better! But then I decided to add a bunch of lines with a white gel pen and that did not make me happy. So just know it looked really good between step 2 and 3. Sometimes we need to just stop haha. I think the hard thing about pansies is there is less shading and more distinct changes in color which I found hard to do. Now I want to try again just to feel better about myself.

After I finally finished with all my coloring enhancements, I flicked some of the SSS black splatter paint over it. This paint is amazing as it is thin and really splatters well. I’m always so scared of black splattering so I usually use the end of a paintbrush to just put down black spots. But I was so happy with the splatters today (at least I was happy with something!). I die-cut one of the XL Basics Reverse EZ Sentiment strips with the XL EZ Strip Wafer Dies and attached it to the center of the card with foam tape behind it.
And that is my rendition of a card made with the Pansy Petal EF from the SSS Beautiful Moments release. I hope you like it more than I do! xoxo suzy
