Yesterday I made a card using the CZ Tree Plate Die from the “And Everything Nice” release. In the middle of me making it, my 10 year old granddaughter came over. From there SHE made a card using this tree plate:

I started with piece of patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn All the Sparkles pad (new and I just purchased it). I cut it to an A2 size and attached it to a white card base. I die-cut the Tree Plate Die with a piece of green cardstock. I then punched the trees out and attached the outside piece to the top of my card. I added foam tape to the back of all of the trees and adhered them inside the openings. I then pulled the background piece off. This allowed me to perfectly position them. This is when granddaughter entered the room!
She takes great interest in my card making and steals half of the cards I make. She usually has great opinions on colors and ideas when I ask her for advice. So I gave her full reign on how to decorate the trees. She asked for gold stars for the top so I gave her the Mini Star Embellishment Mix and she glued those to the top of each tree. I stamped the sentiment from the Nostalgic Christmas stamp set with Cranberry Ink and die cut it out with the matching dies. I attached that to the front of the card. I then gave her my box of “embellishments” and let her decide what to use. She picked these epoxy dots and added them to all the trees. I was so happy with what she did! She is going to give it to her parents for Christmas.
Moral of the story – you can’t teach them too young and you have to accept imperfection (boy did I want to move some of those dots around haha. Thanks for visiting today! Suzy
