Today is the second SSS STAMPtember 2026 Collaboration with Whimsy Stamps. The stamp and die bundle is called Owl-o-ween as shown here:
You can also purchase just the Owl-o-ween stamp set alone but both are only available while supplies last. I gotta be honest here – I am NOT a Halloween person and don’t enjoy making cards for this holiday! But this set has my heart. It is so cute and not scary and I had a really good time making a card using it!
I stamped all of the images in the Owl-o-ween Stamp Set with black ink and colored them in with Copic markers. My granddaughter had to tell me what color to make the owls as I had no idea. I’ve turned her 11 year old self into a Copic loving queen and she knows all the colors. Every holiday I add to her collection haha. Could these images be ANY CUTER?!!!!! I die-cut all the images out with the matching dies which I was so happy to have!!!
Making a background was the hardest part of this card for me as I do not consider myself a good ink blender!! I used Tim Holtz Watercolor paper as I planned on splattering and I got out my dusty Distress Inks because I know how reactive they are to water. I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn on the bottom and then Kirtsch Flamingo, Villainous Potion, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot on the top. I splattered water all over it and then some white paint. I embossed the stars in the stamp set here and there also with white embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Ink and die-cut that out also.
I arranged all of the cute little owls over the background, attached some bats in the sky, and added the sentiment to the bottom. Bam done. A halloween card made that I actually liked. I’ll probably give it to the 11 year old Copic snob granddaughter haha.
