Today is the second day of the SSS Blog Hop celebrating the Shine On release. I have a card to share with you using the Peony Trio Embossing Folder. Before I share that card, I’ll show you two others that I created with this release and link you to my blog posts.

This card uses the Balloon Critters stamp set and the A7 Arches Wafer Dies. Here is a link to the blog post with directions and supplies I used for this card.

This card uses the Curvy Blossom Embossing Folder and the Embossed Squovals Wafer Dies. Here is a link to the blog post with the directions and supplies for this card.
Here is the card I made to share today using the Peony Trio Embossing Folder. You know I love to color a floral embossing folder so I had to color both of the ones in this release immediately!

I embossed the Peony Trio embossing folder using white cardstock. I then colored it with Copic Markers. I used a black Copic for the flower centers. Here are some tips I have for coloring embossing folders:
- Use a white gel pen or acrylic marker to color over any mistakes if you get any Copic marker on your background. You may need to do a couple layers to cover mistakes.
- Color right up to the edge of the image but not over it as Copics usually bleed out a little and this will cover the portion that goes down
- Start with the lightest color which should be a very light shade of whatever color you want the flower to be. Then add darker colors from the inside of each petal blending them outward. When you get to the darkest color move backward again with each color to blend them better. Or you can just blend over them with the lightest color again.
- Add the darkest color again to the very inside of the flower to darken it for shadows and then use it over the lines in the embossed image.
- If you want your image to be lighter anywhere, use the lightest color over any other color and it will usually lighten it.
- Sometimes (not here) I use a colored pencil in the lines to give it more depth. This can be easier than using a Copic in the lines.
- Don’t be afraid to use a really dark color for the very insides as I just started doing this (had to order some new Copics as I never thought I would use the darkest shades) – just be sure to blend them in. The darker the shadows the better. I’m still learning too!

I used two strips from the Glow On Reverse Sentiment Strips with the EZ Strip Dies and attached them to the bottom of the card at angles. This was hard for me as I have to have everything straight haha but I think it looks ok. I added some of the new Rainbow Stardust Embellishment Mix and sparkling clear sequins around the flowers.
