Today’s SSS STAMPtember collaboration is with Altenew which means FLOWERS!!! The stamp and die bundle is called Graceful Blooms and instead of flowers to color or fill in with a stencil, it is flat stamps which is something different. Here is an image of the bundle:

Here is my 5×7″ card:

I started with no plan as usual so I stamped the hydrangea several times trying it in different colors. I learned as I went – first thing is it is best to die-cut the flower out FIRST so you can make sure you are aligning the flower and stem to fit the die. I tried several different colors for the green and preferred Trio x with Sprout, Fairway, and Field. You need three colors for the layers so a Trio 8 of green works perfect. Same thing for the flowers. I ended up liking 3 of the ones I made so I decided on a 5×7″ card so I could use all 3. I used Trio 6, 7, and 33 for the flowers. I embossed the flower centers with white embossing powder but then I didn’t like how it looked so I covered that up with little Altenew pearl stickers!

I die-cut one of the Notched A7 Rectangle Dies released with the SSS STAMPtember products to use as a background. I rubbed Bubblegum PSInk over it darker on the edges and lighter towards the inside. I layered the three hydrangeas over it with foam tape under the tops of each. I stamped a sentiment from the set with Versafine Ink and die-cut it out. I attached it to the bottom of the card with some sparkling clear sequins around it.
I’m not usually one who enjoys working with flat stamps as I prefer to color. I really like this Graceful Blooms set by Altenew though as it was SO much faster to layer these stamps as a coloring method than the way I usually color! I might have to start using flat stamps more often! I recommend making a few to use on different cards as they are fun to layer with different colors of ink – just remember to die-cut them out first before stamping. You can see all of the STAMPtember collabs at this link and keep in mind they are only available while supplies last. Thanks so much for visiting today! suzy
