Today is the second day of the 2 day blog hop celebrating the SSS Die-cember 2025 release. I have a card to share with you using the new Blooming Poinsettia Embossing Folder and Cutting Die as shown here:
I love coloring poinsettias every year and I’ve done so many that I did this one in a little lighter shade than my usual bright red. Here is my card:
I embossed the Blooming Poinsettia embossing folder using white cardstock. I die-cut the poinsettia die that comes with it and then embossed that. I prefer to color images that have been die-cut as you don’t have to worry about coloring out of the lines. Heidi showed this on the YouTube release today and said I didn’t use the die – just the embossing folder. That’s because I glued it down so you can’t really tell. I colored the background with Copics and then the flower with Copics. I had no idea what color to do the small buds so I went with a dark yellow to blend with the gold I used on the card. I colored the middle of the flower with a Gold Uniball.
I used the new Gold Splatter over the background of the card. I also used Nuvo Drops in Mustard Gold and Stickles in Gold for more drops. I used the EZ Strips Christmas stamp set and EZ Strips Slanted Dies. I embossed the sentiment with Antique Gold Embossing Powder. I attached it to the bottom of the card. I applied Tim Holtz Rock Candy clear glitter over the center of the flower and Unicorn Glitter over the petals of the flower.
