For 6 years from 2016-2021, I made a set of Suzy’s Watercolor Cards for every SSS release. For most of that time, each set came with 12 designs printed on Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper. The idea was that you would color them and put them on a card front for easy cards and coloring on the go. Towards the end of those 6 years, we moved to 6 designs with 2 cards of each. I drew over 700 card fronts during this time period – crazy!
I’ve been to the past few Create events and I always have a table with the watercolor cards to paint. I call it the “zen” space where there is very little instruction but lots of fun chatter (by me haha). We always have so much fun painting these cards and have used the Tim Holtz Watercolor Pencils the past few years.
SSS has slowly retired most of these sets but there are a few that are still sold HERE. They should be showing stock on Spring Flowers and Easter Wishes soon as we printed a lot of them for the show. One of the sets we colored at the show was Suzy’s Flower Sentiments as shown here:

I blogged these when they were released in September of 2018 on this blog post where you can see all 12 colored.
I painted one of these prints today to share with you. Here is my card made with it:

I colored the flowers on the watercolor card with acrylic markers (yes I’m addicted right now!). Someone at the show said you can’t shade with them. You can, but you have to do it when they are wet. I only do one petal at a time so I can blend colors while they are still wet. You just have to work fast. After I was done, I cut it out as I didn’t want to use the greeting that was on it.

I embossed the Wavy Waves embossing folder using white cardstock. I just wanted a subtle background and I used this the other day so I used it again. I cut it down and mounted it on a gold card base. I attached the flowers only glueing down the centers so they stick up on the edges. I had a stamped sentiment in my leftover bag and I can’t figure out what set it is from. I stamped it with black ink. I glued that to the bottom of the card. I added some sparkling clear sequins.
Although these Flower Sentiment Watercolor Cards were drawn a long time ago, they are still really cute to use especially if you cut the sentiments off and add your own. They are only $9.99 for a pack, so not pricey at all. I hope you enjoyed this blast to the past! I’ll be back tomorrow highlighting another set that is still available. Don’t forget to check out the blog post I linked above to see all the cards in the set colored. Suzy
